Tired of Tweeting?

Posterous

Do you find Twitter a bit "last year"? Fed up with the 140 character limit? Would you like to include some images or videos or sound in your micro-blog posts? Then you should try Posterous. It is the most ludicrously easy blog site to use. If you want to create a page you just send an email to post@posterous.com and that's it. You don't even need to sign up first. And if you want to share your content you can automatically post it to your Facebook or Twitter account.

If you want to know a bit more about the blogosphere's latest poster child, you can read this interview with the site's co-founder Sachin Agarwal. Or just have a go, it really is amazingly easy. If you can send an email, you can build a blog.

Online ad spend overtakes TV!

by davidw 30. September 2009 14:07

For some years it has looked certain that one day the internet would overtake television to become Britain's largest advertising medium. A study by PwC for the Internet Advertising Bureau this week says that day has come.

The report shows that online advertising rose to 23.5% of the total market in the first half of this year, while TV was on 21.9%. Online spending grew 4.6% to £1.752bn in the first half of 2009, while TV spending shrank 16.1% to £1.639bn.

Advocates for commercial braodcasting protest that the two figures are not directly comparable, since online marketing covers a wider range of activity than broadcast adverts - E-mail campaigns, classified adverts, display ads and search marketing are all classed as online advertising.

However, it's tough to argue against the trend.

World's Best Bars goes multi brand

by ameetc 29. September 2009 15:41

We created worldsbestbars.com for a small, but very cool, Irish Whiskey brand called Black Bush some 10 years ago, as the site grew and became more successful the brand owner decided to switch sponsorship of the site to their top brand, Jameson. Just recently Pernod Ricard took the decision to support five of their premier brands through the site (Absolut, Beefeater, Chivas Regal, Havana Club and, of course, Jameson).  If you visit the site you'll see an ad for Absolut's pretty wizzy iPhone app.

(Keep an eye out as there's lots more good stuff to come in the next few months).
