Google Buzz is here

by ameetc 10. February 2010 11:03

The much talked about Google Buzz launched last night, Twitter was buzzing with comments about it all night.  While there is a lot of excitement round it some commentators are a bit cynical about just what a success it will.  But like all things Google I bet they have plans to make it bigger and better over the coming year.

Happy Cyber Monday

by ameetc 3. December 2009 12:54

Today is apparently 'Cyber Monday', the name given to the busiest online shopping day of the year. The trade body for online retailers (IMRG) expect that we'll spend more than £5billion online this year which is up 14% from last year, with today delivering £350million of that.  All of that said online retail still only accounts for about 4% of total retail sales!

I wonder if zazzle.com are expecting bumper sales of this T-shirt today.

I really hope not.

(UPDATE: 1.43pm on Monday 7th Dec 2009 was the busiest online shopping minute ever with £1.4million spent online in just that minute.)

Finally, useful uses of augmented reality

by ameetc 14. October 2009 11:50

Augmented reality has been talked about and experimented with over the last year or two and finally someone has managed to sum up a number of the possibilities and applications in one short sweet non-techie 6 minute film clip.  Over to Dave from GoWeb3D ...

Patak's Family Cookbook is live

by ameetc 13. October 2009 15:55

We've just launched Patak's new website having been appointed as their digital agency a few months back. The website launch marks Patak’s first major brand activity since Associated British Foods acquired the company from the founding Pathak family in May 2007.  Of course, we started the project with a detailed look at the sector and the brand.  We very quickly realised that the love the Pathak family have for Indian food is very much shared with the love that us Brits have for curry and so we thought the best way of bringing the brand and the family to life was to build their first ever online cookbook.

We worked very closely with the Patak's marketing team and Anjali Pathak to make it all happen.  The site has over 200 recipes ranging from traditional dishes passed down the generations to more modern Indian recipes that Anjali has developed more recently.  The recipes form the backbone of the site and neatly tie up with products that Patak's make.  There's plenty of opportunity for site users to share their love of curry by leaving comments, rating recipes and even finding out what type of curry lover they are (I'm a Korma-Kraver).

(And of course, as with all sites we build, its optimised for search engines.)

And better still the idea of the Family Cookbook has the potential to spin into so many other pieces of activity and media channels - watch this space.

(The team at Libertine were also lucky enough to have Anjali spend a day teaching us how cook a decent Indian meal.)

Thank you Patak's team for making this a happy project.

Libertine in at number 33 (and 27)

by ameetc 1. October 2009 10:23

The NMA Top 100 digital agencies for 2009 were announced last night at a rather nice do that Howard and I attended in Soho.

I'm pleased to announce that we came in at number 33 in the digital marketing agency list. Well done to the team and a big thank you to our clients for supporting us.

And you may remember we were ranked number 27 in the Top 100 ad agencies earlier this year - no other agency has this profile! And we are one of only three independents in the Top 30!
