To those passionate about design (and, rest assured, we are), 'Logo' is a box of calory-free visual chocolates which you can dip in to when the fancy takes you. Conveniently divided into no fewer than seventy categories from handwritten to illustrative, Michael Evamy's book trawls the world of design for the choicest logos around. Although the book is mainly presented in black and white, it is nonetheless successful, for it helps focus the eye on the designs.
We at Libertine have deliberately shunned the ususual approach to logo design, opting instead for a painting of uber-libertine Lord Rochester. Not only did he have a monkey, he also penned a great deal of bawdy poetry and the memorable 'Sodom, or the Quintessence of Debauchery,' available in all good bookshops. You'll be pleased to know that we are contemplating bringing out a pop-up version ready for Christmas
