Some think that there will be a backlash against the Web 2 aesthetic and, if so, frankly one can see why. True, Web 2. is not without its merits, not least acres of space, bright colours, larger text, greater interactivity and all manner of widgets. However, when this approach is taken as default (and, let's face it, it often is) it can often lead to uninspiring site design.
There are some very innovative websites out there. Some are technologically innovative, some artistically so and some are built around an original idea.
All-too-often Web 2.0 design leans too heavily on the use of text. After all, a picture tells a thousand words. As we are faced with more and more information online, we're suffering from information overload. The image has the ability to communicate the complex in seconds.
