Performing a couple of Google searches from a desktop computer can generate about the same amount of carbon dioxide as boiling a kettle for a cup of tea, according to new research. Typically, a search generates about 7g of CO2, while boiling a kettle generates about 15g.  Boiling a computer will of course be far more. So in other words searching for something on google is like a pinprick in the heart of a baby polar bear.
