I bought an iPad from the States a few weeks ago.
Now the iPad has had a lot of hype whereas the Kindle I own hasn't had much at all. And indeed I have read many articles sounding the death knell of the Kindle because of the arrival of the iPad. But I don't think so.
Why?
Because try reading a book on the iPad - it's heavy, it's cumbersome and unlike the Kindle, which is light, neat and compact, when you try to read out of doors, say on the beach for example, it's impossible, as all you see is a reflection of yourself. Not so with the Kindle which uses a different technology that produces a paper like quality to the screen. So I won't be abandoning my Kindle any time soon, which somewhat dismisses this idea of one master device that does everything - my bag is getting heavier all the time.
